Adult clinical hematology department has 28 beds and is equipped with all the necessary facilities for the treatment and care of patients suffering from blood
diseases.
The treatment is carried out by highly qualified specialists with many years of experience, who continually have training courses in the best clinics of the USA, Europe and Russia. Doctors of the department are members of the International Hematology Associations (EHA, SOHO, ERIC, ELN, and SIOG) and are permanent participants of international scientific and practical conferences and seminars.
The department provides treatment for patients with onco-hematological and other blood diseases, in accordance with international protocols and clinical guidelines.
Treatment includes chemotherapy courses, combined courses of chemotherapy and target therapy, high-dose chemotherapy, transfusion and symptomatic care.
The patients with the following diseases get treatment in the department:
- Acute leukemia (acute myeloid and lymphocytic leukemia)
- Chronic leukemia (chronic lymphocytic leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia, hairy cell leukemia)
- Myelodysplastic syndrome
- Lymphomas ( Hodgkin's lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma)
- Multiple myeloma
- Myeloproliferative disorders
- Hemolytic anemia: hereditary and acquired
- Iron and vitamin deficiency anemia
- Coagulopathies: hereditary and acquired
- Severe aplastic anemia
The department also conducts clinical internships of the students from the Department of Hematology of YSMU and clinical training of physicians.
The doctors of the department give lectures in the departments of Hematology of YSMU and Armenian Medical Institute. They participate in scientific, clinical researches carried out in the Hematology Center.
