The Hematology Center after Prof.R.H. Yeolyan, Ministry of Health, Republic of Armenia, is a unique specialized medical institution dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of blood system diseases in Armenia. The center carries out a full-fledged diagnosis and treatment of children and adults with malignant and other blood system diseases using the new technologies, international guidelines, curative programs and practices. The patients in Hematology Center are treated by the newly ways of chemotherapy programs, highly effective medical treatments such as:

  • Target therapy with tyrosine kinase inhibitors
  • High dose chemotherapy  (HDC)
  • Cell therapy - bone marrow/stem cells transplantation

The diagnostic and therapeutic services of the Center are provided by the specialists who are regularly trained in the world leading hospitals (“MD Anderson Cancer Center”, “Hamburg Eppendorf”, Prague “Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center”, “Oncology Center after Dmitry Rogachev”).

The stem cells laboratory carries out the procession, cryo-preservation and preparation of stem cells taken from peripheral blood, bone marrow and cord blood.

  • Blood Bank

The Blood Bank is located in Hematology Center, where blood components are derived from the donor’s whole blood, and then provided to both patients receiving treatment at Hematology Center and to other medical institutions in Yerevan and regions. The collection of stem cells from peripheral blood of patients and donors and the procedure of apheresis (leukocytopheresis, plasmapheresis) is done in the Blood Bank.

The Hematology Center is the clinical base of the Departments of Hematology, Oncology and Pediatric oncology and hematology of YSMU.
